At the guitar school we teach each  guitar student the songs that they want to learn.

This way the student maintains a desire to reach his musical goals while enjoying the learning process.

Intermediate

For students who have a basic understanding of the guitar and a strong desire to continue to advance in both musical understanding and musical intuitiveness.

Advancing

Advance learners have a quick understanding of their scales and arpeggios, and are proficient in the various positions up and down the neck.  With this understanding the student can begin to explore in depth harmonic possibilities and melodic shaping.

Harmony is studied in depth. Practice with the use of big band arranging techniques are use to harmonize. Gradual understanding and physical proficiency using these techniques will enable the student to play any song harmonizing every note (if one desires to do so) and eventually take improvised chord solos  on the fly.

These same techniques can easily be applied to arranging for any style of band or orchestra.
